Monday Morning Update

Good morning faithful readers. It's time for the Monday Morning update, a useless recounting of what's going on in my world. Go grab that cup of coffee, and let's dive in.
Current Listening: I got totally pumped when I found out that No Doubt was coming to town in June. I was less excited when I realized it was Matt's wedding date. However, this has not stopped me from listening to "Rock Steady" all week. Plus, No Doubt's new promo photo is sick business:

Current Reading: Back into Jesus for President. I'm hoping to finish it today, because I'm contemplating a sermon about Religion and Politics. Am I nuts???
Bible Study: One of the only new years resolutions that I'm still hot on the trail of. Must stay strong!
The Gym: Ed and Matt have been helping me get back into it. Need to keep it up.
Big Project: Nothing at all. It is a lazy day!

Catch ya later!

Good morning faithful readers. It's time for the Monday Morning update, a useless recounting of what's going on in my world. Go grab that cup of coffee, and let's dive in.
Current Listening: This is not a suggestion: everyone go buy Mixtape Metro's new CD. It is a wonderful CD, and I can't stop listening to it. (I think this may ultimately be one of those CDs I over play, but I'm willing to live with that.)
Current Reading: I am way behind on my reading plan. I have halted all reading projects and gone back to How can a good God let bad things happen, because I'm supposed to review it in the next week or so.
Bible Study: One of the only new years resolutions that I'm still hot on the trail of. Must stay strong!
The Gym: Haven't seen the inside of the gym in about a month. No good. Gotta get back in there.
Big Project: I am super excited to be writing some new songs. More on this later!

Catch ya later!

Good morning faithful readers. It's time for the Monday Morning update, a useless recounting of what's going on in my world. Go grab that cup of coffee, and let's dive in.
Current Listening: In all my trips back and forth from Camp Harmony, I think I've listened to everything on my iPod. However, if I had to pick a couple of bands that have been at the Forefront I'd have to pick The Notwist and Owl City. Good bands!
Current Reading: I'm reading tons of books right now. This morning I'm sitting with Doug Field's Refuel. I think it's a book that's going to be speaking to exactly where I am, even though I'm not nearly as beat up and tired as I was about a week ago .
Bible Study: Still working through the Remix. Slow going though, as I've missed a couple days. Gotta get back on track.
The Gym: Wow. My retreat weekends have decimated my gym routine. Ed being in India and Matt having broken his butt hasn't helped either, but I don't want this to be about them. I need to go, and in fact I need to go today.
Big Project: I really don't have any projects right now. I've been writing some new songs, so I imagine I'll spend a little bit of time this week hammering them out. Other than that, I would really like to set aside some time to clean my office this week!

Catch ya later!

No updates today folks.
366 (leap year) days ago I married my best friend. We're celebrating.
And so for 24 straight hours, I'm unplugging. No twitter, no facebook, no blog, no e-mail. Just me and my wife.
See you Tuesday!

Good morning faithful readers. It's time for the Monday Morning update, a useless recounting of what's going on in my world. Go grab that cup of coffee, and let's dive in.
Current Listening: Working with Mark this weekend at Camp Harmony has led me to listen to a lot of Charlie Hall. Good stuff. Marvelous Light has been the song of choice for a few days now.
Current Reading: Youth Culture kind of wound down a little bit. It's a terrific book, but it's also very long, and extremely work related, making it hard to read on my off nights. On top of that, I've enrolled myself in the NavPress blogger review program. As such, I'm going to spend a fair amount of time today reading "How Can a Good God Let Bad Things Happen" by Mark Tabb. Hopefully a review will be forthcoming by the end of the week.

Bible Study: Still going through the Message Solo. It's good stuff.
The Gym: Missed a couple of normal work out days with this weekend's trip to Camp. Actually, it turns out I'm going to be at camp the next two weekends as well, so I'm going to have to work hard on the Gym.
Big Project: Gearing up for Winterfest this weekend. I'm actually super pumped about the retreat. I haven't been on one for quite a while. That, and I'd like to have the house cleaned up and presentable for Sarah when she gets home, so I ought to get off my butt!

Godspeed,

Jason

Good morning faithful readers. It's time for the Monday Morning update, a useless recounting of what's going on in my world. Go grab that cup of coffee, and let's dive in.
Current Listening: I've been switching back and forth between Brandon Heath and Andrew Osenga. Sometimes Christian music just doesn't get enough credit in the secular world.
Current Reading: Still working through Youth Culture. It's been slow, mostly because I've been pretty lazy this last week.
Bible Study: Working through The Message Remix Solo. I really have been having fun praying through the Bible, and have even started keeping a prayer journal of everything I'm working through.
The Gym: I've been right on track with the gym. I'm starting to feel like I have a bit more energy and drive throughout the day, and hopefully that will translate into legitimate health.
Big Project: I'm going to be working on a Super Bowl part for the youth group. But today mostly I'm planning on collecting some thoughts about Dr. King. Look for a blog post later.

Monday Morning(ish) Update.

Good morning faithful readers. It's time for the Monday Morning update, a useless recounting of what's going on in my world. God grab that cup of coffee, and let's dive in.
Current Listening: I'm sitting in the Barnes and Noble by the church, so I'm listening to whatever they have playing on the radio. Whatever it is, I really like it.
Current Reading: Youth Culture by Walt Mueller. I really like this book, it's quite good. It's also very large, which makes me wonder if I can finish it on schedule.
Bible Study: This has been the one area of my new years resolutions that I have felt is truly lacking. I need to step it up. I have The Message: Remix solo, which is particularly helpful when I'm in the habit. I'm just not in the habit yet. Need to get it in gear. Yes yes.
The Gym: Oh, am I pumped about the gym. I went every day this week that I was scheduled to go, and I have felt great after every work out. The icing on the cake: after staying at 240 my whole adult life, this morning I discovered that I have slipped down to 239.5. To the untrained eye, this might look like slow progress, but to me it's solid gold.
Big Project: I actually did most of this project last night. I needed to clean up my computer a little bit:
(Look at all those icons!)
So I hooked up the external drive:
And have now achieved desktop bliss:
My other project for today is to get my phone and my computer to sync. If they did, I'd be a happy guy.
More later, I feel like writing today!
Godspeed,
Jason
